The Brookfield Zoo, also known as the Chicago Zoological Society, sits on over 216 acres of land with over 20
beautiful natural exhibits. It is home to over 400 species of animals. Brookfield Zoo works hard to make their
exhibits better then most and you will not be disappointed.

Many of the exhibits have won awards. Some of the habitats include Australia House, Fragile Desert, Fragile Rain
Forest, Habitat Africa The Forest, Habitat Africa The Savannah, The Living Coast, Salt Creek Wilderness, The Swamp
and Tropic World. The zoo also has a Children’s Zoo and the Hamill Family Play Zoo. Two other exciting exhibits are
Dolphin Presentations and Stingray Bay.
Some of the Brookfield Zoo’s activities cost extra during part of the year. For example, Hamill Family Play Zoo is
FREE during the winter months but has a charge for adults and children during the rest of the year. You can see
more about this under the Coupons and Discounts section. However, other activities at this zoo in Chicago have a
year-round cost. These are the Carousel, Dolphin Presentations and the Motor Safari.

- A Senior discount is offered on admission, Dolphin
Presentations, Hamill family Play Zoo, Children’s
Zoo and Motor Safari. Senior admission costs are as
follows: Admission $10.50, Hamill Family Play Zoo
$2.50, Children’s Zoo $1, Dolphin Presentations,
$2.50 and Motor Safari $2.50.
- Zoo parking is cheaper in the South Lot ($2) and
FREE in the North Lot.
- Hamill Family Play Zoo and Children’s Zoo is FREE until February 28, 2013.
- Military Personnel who show a valid ID at the ticket booth will receive FREE admission. This includes all
active, reservist and retired members of the military.
- FREE admission days for 2013 are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from now through
Thursday, February 28. This zoo special is only good on normal zoo operating hours.
- February 24, 2013 is FREEze Day. Guests will be able to see demonstrations of dog sledding in the
Brookfield Zoo’s West Mall.
- A number of hotels offer Brookfield Zoo Hotel Packages. These include Best Western, Courtyard by
Marriott, DoubleTree Hotel, Comfort Suites and more. To find out more about these, go to the Brookfield
Zoo website and click on Hotel Partners.
- The GoSelect Chicago Explorer Pass offers a way to see a number of attractions for a cheaper price. You
can just add the attractions you would like to see and buy the card online at their website. This zoo is
offered in the pass.
- Kraft foods, local Chicago libraries and the Brookfield Zoo partner to offer FREE general admission passes
for four people. The Great Kids Museum Passports can be checked out at the library and used at the zoo.
You will still need to pay for parking and some extra optional activities.
- Zoo deals are often listed on the Brookfield Zoo’s website, Facebook or Twitter page.
- Local discount coupon books or tourists guides may offer coupons for the zoo.
- If you are a member to another zoo or aquarium, you may qualify for a discounted or FREE admission to
the Brookfield Zoo.
- If you become a Brookfield Zoo member, you will receive FREE parking at the main entrance, FREE
admission for one year, Members only discounts at zoo restaurants and gift shops, discounts on seasonal
