The Phoenix Zoo also has five unique playgrounds for kids that have helped it become such a popular zoo
with children.  They are:

  • Yakulla Caverns offers a unique playground that teaches cave geology.  Children will see stalactites,
    stalagmites, shields, waterfalls, columns and flowstone.  
  • Leapin’ Lagoon is a sprayground to cool off and get refreshed.
  • Fisher Price Discovery Farm has life size Fisher Price farm animals, drive a tractor, Side the red silo
    and explore four gardens.
  • Enchanted Forest
  • Wallaby Walkabout Play Space


The Phoenix Zoo also partners with BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona to offer Wild Walk.  Wild Walk is a
marked fitness path through the zoo with fitness stops along the way.
What are the Phoenix Zoo's Hours and Details?

The zoo hours are:
June 1 through August 31 - 7 a.m. - 2 p.m. (weekdays), 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. (weekends) September 1 - November
 -  9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (daily)  
November 3 -January 9 - 9 a.m. -4 p.m. (daily)
January 10 -May 31 - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (daily)


Guests may bring food in coolers and ice chests.  Picnic tables are located throughout the zoo.    Guests are
even allowed to bring in their bicycles and bicycle around the zoo.
