The Pueblo Zoo is accredited by AZA and has over 420 animals from 140 species. It is in the city park of Pueblo and has landscaped areas to enjoy. The Colorado zoo is divided into areas such as Serengeti Safari, North American Grasslands, Australian Outback, World of Color, Islands of Life, Pioneer Ranch and Asian Adventure.
Some of the animals you can see at the Pueblo Zoo are African lions, zebra, maned wolf, Malayan sun bear, Rocky Mountain Elk, Plains Bison, meerkat, snakes, birds, turtles, spiders, Hoffmans sloth, Canada Lynx and much more. It is home to many endangered or threatened animals.
Pueblo Zoo offers educational programs for children of grade school age. Many classes include observations and discussions of animals. They also offer summer camps. Events are held throughout the year such as Zoofari and Turtle Tuesday.
Where Can I Find Pueblo Zoo Coupons & Discounts?
The zoo does not offer very many ways to receive a discount. However, they have good prices for the zoo.
A military discount of $1 is given with proper ID for adults.
A group discount is offered with groups of 15 or more paid tickets. Reservations must be made at least seven days in advance. A group discount will save $2 on adult tickets and $1 off child’s ticket.
The Pueblo City-County Library District and the Pueblo Zoo are part of “Check Out the Zoo”. FREE zoo passes will be provided to library patrons to check out year-round (each pass admits up to four).

Pueblo Zoo Details
The zoo is open almost every day of the year but is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. It closes at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Hours for the zoo are seasonal and are from Memorial Day to Labor Day - 9 am to 5 pm. In May on weekdays - 9 am to 4 pm. In May on weekends - 9 am to 5 pm Rest of the year on Monday through Saturday - 9 am to 4 pm. Rest of the year on Sunday - noon to 4 pm.
The zoo stops selling tickets about an hour before closing time and animal exhibit buildings close about ½ hour before closing.
Regular rates for the zoo are Adult $8, Child 3-12 $5, Children 2 and under are free, Seniors and Youth 13- 17 $7.
