Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is an AZA-approved park.  It has several of quality animal exhibts as well as
animal shows and animal encounters.  A highlight of the park is Dolphin Discovery which allows guests to
swim with dolphins.  
Other special activities are feeding the dolphins, sea lions, seals, giraffe or lorikeets, spending a day with
the trainers of the sea lions or dolphins or having a behind-the-scence visit with an animal trainer.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has a large number of animal shows including such animals as killer whales,
elephants, birds, dolphins, tigers, sea lions and walrus.  Some of the other animals you can see at this
park are cougar, flamingo, lions, penguins, reptiles, sharks, giraffes, camels, otters, hawks and butterflies
at a Butterfly Habitat.

Discovery Kingdom is also known for their amusement rides, which range from Mild to Max.  An example
of a Mild ride is the Acme Water Works sporting Looney Tune characters that is for all ages, while a Max
ride would be the Boomerang Coast to Coaster for those over 48” tall.   There are plenty of rides for the
family with younger children.  It also has some great thrill rides and coasters for those looking for some
excitement.

  • You can sign up for emails to be sent directly

    online.  Another offer is to buy a souvenir
    sports bottle and receive FREE unlimited refills
    on the day of purchase after the day of

  • If you have a Discover Card, you can 5% by buying Six Flags Discovery Kingdom tickets online.  You can
    also save 5% on Season Passes, Play Passes, admission tickets, parking food, merchandise, The Flash
    Pass and more.  In addition, Discover Card Members can use the Discover Card member Entrance the
    first two hours of each day to avoid long lines.

  • You can order tickets through the Entertainment book, if you are a member, and save up to $20 per
    adult ticket.  There are also a number of other Six Flags discounts offered.

  • Six Flags Discover Kingdom is part of the Go San Francisco Card program.  This program offers
    discounted admission tickets to a number of Bay Area attractions.  You must pick at least two
    attractions to receive discount tickets.  

  • A Credit Union VIP printable coupon for Six Flags in Vallejo, California is offered.  Tickets can be as
    low at $29.99 and the coupon is good until January 1, 2012.  

  • The California Bureau of Tourism has a printable coupon for a Six Flags Discovery Kingdom discount
    ticket.  This coupon is good until December 31, 2011 and entitles six adults to pay the Kid’s Price of
    $36.99.

  • Combo tickets are available online and can help you save money.  There is a ticket and meal combo or
    a ticket/meal and parking ticket combo.

  • Group discounts are given with price breaks for groups under and over 100 paying guests.  Group
    pricing starts at 15 paying guests and offers a savings of $24 off the general admission.

  • Girl Scout Weekend is held in October (22-23 in 2011).  Girl Scouts can earn a commemorative patch.  
    A FREE picnic is provided for the Scouts and is included in the park admission of $33.  The Dolphin
    Discovery program is also offered at a discounted rate with advance reservations.

  • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Homeschool Day is being held on November 11, 2011.  You can save 60%
    by buying Six Flags discount tickets online or with an order form by October 14.  Tickets will be
    $19.99.  If you miss the October 14 deadline, you can purchase tickets for $23.99.  

  • AAA members receive $5 off general admission when they show their membership card at the ticket
    booth.  This is good for up to six Six Flags discount tickets.  AAA members can also receive a 10%
    discount on merchandise when they purchase $15 or more.

  • A Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Season Pass can save you money if you plan to go to the park several
    times.  Specials are sometimes offered with the purchase.  If you buy a 2012 Season Pass before
    October 30, you will also receive FREE parking and FREE Holiday tickets and FREE admission for the
    rest of 2011.  If you buy 4 or more 2012 Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Season Passes at a time, you get
    a special price of $49.99.  That is the same price as a regular admission, which is quite a deal.  
    Membership includes some FREE passes for friends to use on certain days and $300 in discounts on
    food, souvenirs and more.  In addition, your Season Pass is good at 13 other Six Flags Theme Parks.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Details:

The days and hours that Six Flags is open varies throughout the year.  The park opens in the spring with full
hours throughout the summer.  As fall approaches, the park is open mainly on the weekends.  During the
winter, it is closed most of the time with the exception of the holidays.  Although it is closed on Christmas
Eve and Christmas Day, it is open for the weekends through the rest of December and during the week for
the two weeks before Christmas.

Six Flags does not allow any outside food or beverages to be brought into the park.  However, if you have
certain food allergies or special diet needs you can contact Guest Relations for approval to bring in that
type of food.  It will be put into specially marked containers.

Regular ticket prices are Adults $59.99, Kids under 48 inches $39.99 and 2 and under are FREE.

Parking is $18 a day for regular parking.
