The Tautphaus Park Zoo has over 400 animals and is the largest collection of animals in Idaho. This Idaho zoo sits on 7 acres of landscaped terrain. It is divided into six sections including Africa, Asia, Australia & New Guinea, Children’s Zoo, North America and South America. It also has a gift shop, cafe and an Animals Encounters Stage.
Some of the species of animals you can see at the zoo in Idaho Falls are lion, zebra, penguin, sloth bears, snow leopards, wallabies, New Guinea singing dogs, goat, sheep, flamingo and macaw. Tautphaus Park Zoo’s walk through aviary includes many South American birds. Penguin feedings are held twice daily.
Education classes are offered to children from 2 - 13. Zoo Camps that last for five days are offered to children 7 - 12. Scout and group activities can be planned and reserved ahead of time including Overnight Safaris and Behind the Scenes Tours.

A Senior discount is given. It will save you $1.50.
A group rate is given to 20 or more paying guests. It will save you between $.50 to $1 per person.
The zoo usually offers FREE admission to Mothers on Mother’s Day and for fathers on Father's Day, with a paying child.
A Seniors Day is offered in August that gives FREE admission to those 62 and over.
September 27, 2014 is Fall Appreciation Day and offers FREE admission to all Tautphaus Zoo guests.
September 1-5, 2014 are the zoo's Stroller Set days. Free admission is offered to any adults with a baby in a stroller.
On the third Friday of June, July and August the Zoo features Date Night Fridays. Bring your date to the zoo after 5PM and receive half off their admission.
If you have a membership to another AZA zoo, you can receive FREE admission to this zoo.
