Zoo Boise is in Julia Davis Park and houses over 201 animals from 83 species. The Zoo Boise is divided into a number of areas including the African Plains Exhibit that includes a giraffe exhibit and giraffe encounters, lion, servals and small animals of Africa. Animals of Asia has red panda, tigers and prairie dogs. The Americas has a Penguin Pavilion, Primate House and Aviaries.
The zoo in Boise has some special attractions throughout the year. Some of these are Butterflies in Bloom, a Zoo Farm, Giraffe Encounters, Conservation Cruise, Wallaby Walkabout, Zookeeper Talks and Animal Storytime.
The Conservation Cruise offers guests a unique trip across a lagoon to a monkey exhibit and to the African Plains Exhibit. This as well as the Butterflies in Bloom exhibit have a small entrance fee in addition to the zoo fee. Some of the animal feedings charge for the food that guests can feed the animals.
This Idaho zoo has numerous educational programs for children, families, schools, groups and the general public.

A Senior rate of $4.50 is offered.
Every Thursday is discount day at the zoo. On those days, Adults and Seniors are $4.25, Children (4-11) $3.
A substantial group rate is offered with a reservation.
Claus ‘n’ Paws will be held on December 3, 2011. Everyone will receive FREE admission to the zoo on this day.

In the past, Zoo Boise has held a special Military day. Those with a valid military ID receive FREE admission this day.

Boise Zoo Details
The zoo is open every day of the year except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
From September 15 through May 20, hours for the zoo are 10 am to 5 pm. The rest of the year, it is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Regular admission prices are Adults $7, Children (4-11) $4.25 and Children 3 and under are FREE.
Strollers, wagons and Safari Jeeps are available to rent for a small fee at the gift shop. Wheelchairs are FREE, first come, first served and are picked up at the front gate.
