Zoo Miami, formerly known as the Miami Metrozoo, is home to over 2,000 animals on 740 acres of land.
At least forty of the animals are endangered species. At this unique Florida zoo, animals are in large,
open-air exhibits. The zoo also has over 1,000 species of trees, palms and other plants. Zoo Miami offers
a Diego Meet and Greet, Critter Corner and Meet the Zookeeper throughout the day. For a small fee,
camel rides and a wildlife carousel are located in the zoo.

up to 300 pounds. In Amazon and Beyond, guests will see over 600 animals. Animals you will see in this
area are giant river otters, jaguars, harpy eagles, anaconda and more. Australian exhibits are home to
such animals as koala, crocodile, red kangaroo and more. African exhibits has zebra, ostrich, gazelle,
giraffes and more. Dr. Wilde’s World offers an indoor discovery area.
The zoo offers a monorail to get around the zoo. It has four stops and you can see many of the animals
on the ride. For a fee, you can rent Safari Cycles. These cycles are available in two sizes and can
accommodate up to eight people. Asia or Africa Safari Trams are available complete with narration.
Trams tours charge a fee.

discount. The discount runs from 10% - 25%.
- AAA member can receive $1 off regular admission
prices for four people. Proper ID is needed.
- Miami-Dade County employees can receive a $4
off adults and $2 off child’s regular admission
prices.
- A Military discount of 25% off regular admission
prices on up to four tickets is available with
proper ID.
- A Senior discount of 25% off the regular adult admission price is offered with ID.
- Travel agents can receive a 10% discount on up to four people at Zoo Miami.
- Tour operators and motor coach operators can receive 10% off with advance notice of their visit.
- Get one FREE adult zoo ticket with the purchase of on adult zoo ticket when you buy We Bought
A Zoo blue-ray disk. Bring original proof of purchase from the back of the movie box along with

- The 2011 Entertainment book has coupons for the Metro Miami Zoo for 15% off.
- Zoo Miami sometimes offers a coupon code to get tickets online at a discounted rate.
- For three years in a row Lion Country Safari, Miami Sequarium, Museum of Discovery and Science
and Zoo Miami have offered a Summer Savings Pass. This pass allows unlimited admission to all four
attractions through the summer months for one fee.
- If you are visiting a number of attractions, check out the Go Orlando or Go Miami Card. Purchasers
of this card can pay one price depending on the number of days they wish to visit attractions.
They can then choose from about 35 attractions to get into FREE.
- Some hotels in the area, such as the Holiday Inn Express in Kendall, offer a package that includes
discounted tickets to Zoo Miami.
- News of the zoo in Miami’s events or specials can be found on their Facebook or Twitter page, on
the zoo’s website or in zoo literature.
- Florida attraction maps and brochures often have a coupon for the Miami zoo in them. These can
be found at tourist information centers, hotel lobbies, grocery stores and mass transit areas.
- Memberships are available and can save you money if you go to the zoo at least a few times.
